Maldives is an archipelago located on the equator about 700 km southwest of Sri Lanka between Laccadive Islands and Chargos. In other words Maldives’ 1190 islands stretches more than 800 km north to south and 120 km east to west. The temperature of the country varies from 29-32°C. The climate is divided into two seasons called dry season (northeast monsoon) and wet season (southwest monsoon). The capital island is Male’ ( 4°11’5.43″N, 73°30’13.53″E), one third of the country’s population lives in Male’ Island.

The population of the whole country is more or less 350,000, with an additional half of the population being expatriates working in different industries of the Maldives. The main industries the Maldives is concerned about is fisheries, tourism and construction.

Out of all the 1,190 islands in the Maldives, only 195 of them are inhabited, where their source of energy is power generators. Each of the islands using power generators consume a good quantity of gas oil or diesel.
